about taylour

Taylour Hoberman is a DONA International certified birth and postpartum doula who has lived in Colorado for more than 20 years.

She is committed to supporting parents in having healthy and peaceful experiences in pregnancy, birth and postpartum. Because she believes we were never meant to do this alone, she provides unconditional support, tools and evidence-based information so you can make the best decisions for yourself and your family.

Taylour has a Master’s of Public Administration from the University of Colorado and a B.S. in Journalism from Colorado State University.

She felt a calling to birth work once her son, Oliver, was born. She was suddenly in awe of the strength of all mothers who came before her and knew there was work to be done to support those who came after.

Taylour enjoys practicing yoga, preparing meals that require less than 30 minutes of cooking and chasing her 5-year-old around Denver playgrounds with her husband.

“Taylour is knowledgeable, helpful, professional, friendly and warm, aware, supportive, and just extremely pleasant and easy to be around.”

“As first time parents, we were so relieved to have Taylour as our doula. She was calm, knowledgeable and supportive. She immediately felt like someone we knew for awhile and helped make our labor and delivery go smoothly.”

“When creating my ‘birth plan’, I was pretty nimble with my said plan, because I knew that it wouldn't entirely be up to me - my daughter would be the one to decide how and when she wanted to enter into the world.

Fast forward post-birth of our daughter, I was in baby bliss the first few days. It was the day that we returned home where the hard part hit. My milk started to come in (that was painful), I was recovering from delivery and my hormones started to tank. Enter Taylour.

Taylour stepped into support in ways where I didn't even know where I needed the support. She's empathetic, approachable and an active listener (not to mention a fellow mom). She helped me come up with some solutions for getting more rest, taught me how to ‘baby wear’, we chatted through addressing my daughter's spit up issues and overall, I felt heard.

Looking back, I know I wouldn't have made it through those first few weeks without Taylour's support. Her knowledge as a doula and postpartum is a gift alone, coupled with her empathy and strong desire to help new moms. I couldn't recommend anyone better to support new moms. Having a birth plan is ideal, but having a postpartum plan and support system is the greatest gift you can give yourself, and for me, I'm thankful that that gift was Taylour.”

“We had our baby last Thursday and had Taylour as our doula. We wanted to say just how incredible she was and have no idea what we would have done without her. She was calm, measured, decisive and really helped my husband and I work as a team. She stayed to make sure we were doing well and even checked in with us the next day. If we have another child, Taylour would be our first choice and will be 100% recommending her to friends who are also having kids.”

“I took all the available baby classes before the birth of my daughter, but still nothing was as powerful as having a doula present during labor and delivery to support my husband and I, and to advocate for our birth plan with the nurses.

I thought all that stuff after the birth would come naturally, but there is so much more to those first few weeks of motherhood than I realized! It is magical, but also filled with floods of hormones, lack of sleep, and a million new skills to learn.

Taylour’s presence strikes the perfect balance for a partner in this journey. She is warm, empathetic and perceptive; she could often tell what I was feeling when I wasn’t able to articulate it. She is also knowledgeable, decisive and assertive when you need her to be! Definitely someone I’d recommend having by your side for the process.”

“ I was on the fence about even getting a doula because I was pretty sure I would want an epidural. We signed up anyway for peace of mind as first time parents and I am SO thankful we did. It was great to be able to talk to her about a rough birth plan and text her as I was in early labor.

Ultimately, she really showed up and exceeded our expectations in the hospital. She anticipated needs I didn't even know I had. She was so positive, supportive and I trusted her to have my back throughout the birth process. I cannot recommend her enough.”

“One of many pieces of advice we received while pregnant was to find a doula. However, neither my husband nor I initially loved the idea of sharing our birth space with a stranger, so we decided to research our local options and see if we might be able to find someone that was the right fit. In our search, we found Taylour, and we couldn’t have made a better choice in choosing to work with her.

Taylour is knowledgeable, helpful, professional, friendly and warm, aware, supportive, and just extremely pleasant and easy to be around. She made sure both my husband and I were extremely well taken care of throughout our entire labor and birth experience, so much so that looking back, it felt like we were in a nice hotel rather than a sterile hospital room when delivering our baby. She was encouraging and helpful in all the right ways, and even the L&D nurses complimented our choice once we shared that Taylour was on her way to our birth room- it was obvious they all loved her too.

She also was excellent with taking photos and videos of our birth and the moments following (which we asked her to do), and the fact that we didn’t have to worry about anything post birth other than enjoying our little one, while also having a treasure trove of photos and videos to look back on, is priceless. I can’t say enough about how incredible of an experience we had during our delivery, and so much of that is owed to Taylour. We highly recommend her, and feel so fortunate to have had her assist us with our birth!!”
